“I feel proud to be out on campus and have no real fears of being visual. I’ve not yet had a negative experience from being visual. I have had people ask questions on occasion but they were polite and relatively non-intrusive.”

“I feel that it is hit or miss with certain professors but I have yet to have a problem. When I tell them I am trans, they are very accepting and try their best to accommodate me. When I got to my dorm freshman year, I was so worried about coming out but not only did my roommate accept me but she loved it. Only one girl in my hall out of 29 disapproved.”

“I came out to the community at the National Coming Out Day event that the GLBT Resource Center held. It gives a safe environment for all people and all around the student body is relatively accepting of the gay community.”

“I felt extremely comfortable. The groups I hung around (Black Student Alliance, GLBT Resource Center, Gay Straight Alliance, Delta Lambda Phi) were open and expressive in their own right! Coming out was great because I have a great support system built on lots of groups on campus."
